Las tropas franquistas entraron en Donostia el domingo 13 de septiembre de 1936. En los días anteriores el éxodo de la ciudad había sido constante, la mayoría de sus vecinos abandonaron sus casas hacia Bizkaia, con paradas intermedias en Orio, Zarautz, Zumaia o Eibar, mientras que algunos pocos lo hicieron en txalupas hacia Hendaia. Hubo, incluso, una expedición organizada de 150 niños que viajaron a la costa lapurtana. De 80.000 habitantes que tenía la ciudad, más de la mitad se fueron. La prensa franquista calculó que el 13 de septiembre quedaban en la ciudad entre 30.000 y 35.000 personas.…

With a title like Spain In Revolt, you'd expect a boring Viva La Spain movie full of somewhat boring leaders and Spanish history. But NO! This is one really bizarre reel (the 2nd one apparently) of this movie, and it's quite a pip! The film abruptly begins in the middle of a battle. I am not too sure who is battling who, maybe this is world war II? Anyways, they're fighting a unnamed enemy and we see some neat, if unoriginal battlefield action. What's so amazing about this scene is that the sound effects are constantly repeated.. Artillery fire, followed up by a few bomb blasts. We see some…
