This film from Bell Labs computer research is from the mid 60s. There was some difficulty properly showing the early CRT vector graphics on motion picture film. It wasn’t so annoyingly strobing in real life. It give a good demonstration of how far we have come with computers. This was jaw dropping technology back then. The computer singing “Daisy” was recorded by Bell Labs in the early 60s and is given a nod to in the film “2001: A Space Odyssey”, when HAL is getting his AI removed. This 1968 Bell Labs film sums up developments in computer graphics, film, and sound to that point and looks into the future. It all looks primitive to us today (the synthesizer music is as basic as you could find) but provides an excellent history lesson, though focusing only on Bell's efforts. The story is told in a straight-forward, clinical manner. I wonder why Orson Welles never got a narration credit. Surely it can't be anyone else.

Great movie about how Bell and Howell are making steps to improve computers and how they work! They can move stuff with a light pen! They can make it emulate speech! What will they think of next! This was pretty awesome actually. Highly reccomended!
