It is so sad to see old buildings of character taken down. Not many nations in the developing world have particularly cared about maintaining old fascias of buildings, and renovating the insides of them. Instead, it's all about so called progress and modernization. It was so good to see how things once were, and looked.

The old residential neighborhood of Bunker Hill, above downtown Los Angeles, was once served by the "Angels Flight" railroad - scarely two blocks long, climbing up and down the steep hill. This film dwells for long lingering moments of slow movement, showing the progress of urban renewal forging ahead while the old hillside train keeps on rolling up and down, up and down, up and down. The hillside tracks were taken down after this film was made. Many years later, however, a new "Angels Flight" was constructed to serve the modern urban towers that now dominate the landscape.
