The director of this film, E.A. Dupont, didn't remain in Germany long enough to attend the premiere. The Hitler gang had just taken power, and he had no difficulty apprehending his fate should he go on living in the Third Reich. He made his way to Hollywood where, sadly, his abilities weren't appreciated. He worked on inferior projects there and was never able to re-establish himself as a director of international renown.
