This comedy duo appeared in very short weekly propaganda films aimed at cinema audiences seeking some small relief from the daily reality of life under a tyrannical surveillance state. Tran (Ludwig Schmitz) was a slippery, oafish, potentially disloyal type constantly in need of lecturing by his genial Nazi friend Helle (Joseph "Jupp" Hussels). Apparently the films proved quite popular, which confers an air of mystery on their sudden termination after only one year of production. Schmitz was a member of the SS as well as a party member.
