Synopsis
Black Angel is a 1946 American film noir starring Dan Duryea, June Vincent and Peter Lorre. Directed by Roy William Neill, it was his final feature film. Produced by Universal Pictures, it is set in Los Angeles and broadly adapted from Cornell Woolrich's 1943 novel The Black Angel.

Very good film noir movie!!! Always love these forties movies. June Vincent was a good actress and should have been a bigger star. Lore and Crawford were somewhat wasted with minor parts but added a great deal to the movie. Dan Duryea always at his best.

Has a good cast (Dan Duryea, Peter Lorre, Broderick Crawford) and an interesting story. A singer (and blackmailer) is murdered and one of her blackmail victims is seen running away. After he is convicted and sentenced to death, his wife begins looking for the real murderer to save him from the gas chamber, with the help of the dead woman's estranged husband.
