Synopsis
Mystery novelist Janet Frobisher, lives in an isolated house, having been separated for years from her criminal husband. She has fallen in love with her secretary's fiancé and when her estranged husband unexpectedly returns, Janet poisons him, but just as she's about to dispose of the body, one of her husband's criminal cohorts also shows up.

WOW!!! Bette Davis was over the top!!! Not only a great entertaining movie but total high camp. This was a prelude to her being 'Baby Jane Hudson." I wish this movie had been much more known. I think it being set in Los Angeles instead of being somewhere in the UK would have given it more importance. Davis and her then husband, Gary Merrill worked well together. Davis and Joan Crawford's success in movies was they let themselves in dramatic facial scenes show to the audience what they were thinking. It worked.
