Incessant courtroom theatrics and stagey acting and dialogue overshadow the serious issues. Good performance by Lee Remick. Stewart veers close to self-parody. Includes a patronizing cameo of Duke Ellington. The movie makes an indifferent case for the jury's verdict, but it's doubtful that edifying the viewer was its objective.
