The boat featured with "FIRE ISLAND" on the hull is Lightship No. 114. In 1930, it was launched by the US Coast Guard from Oregon, and arrived at Fire Island on September 20, 1930. So, the footage must have been shot no earlier than that day – to help put a more accurate date to the film! :)
