A Trip To The Moon George Méliès (1902)

So, 6 old guys (astronomers?) in top hats, carrying canes get into their "rocket" which is a large tin can with a point at one end. It is pushed into a launching tube by 2 dozen twelve year old girls in white tights. And the fuse is lit..... and they make it to the moon! Exploring the moon in their top hats, and experiencing a lot of action and adventure! This is a very humorous film; but perhaps it was sci fi when it was made? Anyway, the film quality is very good, and ok acting (very dramatic). In one point the movie was surprisingly futuristic: the rocket lands in an ocean upon return.
