In this atypical Jem Handy movie, the glories of America are narrowed down to the glories of Automobile production. In this spinning of events, The 'making' of things is loosely explored, from the boys making sandcastles (too close to the water!) to Mother preparing dinner (ham and cheese sandwiches!), this is a thinly veiled exploration until the film focuses on the REAL makers! The assembly line! From the historical re-enactments, with dialogue (if my memory serves me correctly, this is one of few rare times these films had actors saying anything rather then the narrator saying it for them)…

No, no, no, no. This is not a film with sandcastle building kids. It is not "American Maker." It is not a Jam Handy film. It has nothing to do with Chevrolets. How can anyone post an incorrect "shot list" or review? Don't they actually watch the film first? Anyway, this is a 15-minute exercise narrated by Chet Huntley, whose contract must have allowed him to do side work away from NBC. It's entitled "American Women, Partners in Research." If you think women are in the lab creating things, forget it. This is 1950s America. The "partnership" is looking at coffee percolators and seeing which one…
