ms hutton was beat up by nbcs bat masterson in the mist of a three year run and by the surging donna reed show on abc which seemed to have the wholesome mom and kids audience . ms hutton mentioned in one her latter day interviews that this show suffered because of poor writing etc. she also said she spent $600,000 of her own money . perhaps if she really played a showgirl using her singing/dancing/physical comedy abilities instead of the nanny premise . but similar to judy garland a few years later maybe she was too manic a personality for television at that time. at any rate she was…
