Early warning film about Cancer that is surprisingly straight forward and informational. Granted, being the time that the film was made, I am not too sure of how much that info is factual now (eg the Doctor telling the patient that Cancer is not hereditary for one). Quite interesting to watch some of the exploration about the common myths of the time about the disease as well (eg "Only old people get it"). A very interesting short.

This Encyclopedia Brittanica film is for adults, covering the warning signs of cancer, how cancer is treated, and dispelling some old wives' tales about it, such as that it only effects old people or that it is hereditary. The main character is a middle-aged man who develops stomach cancer, but is successfully treated by his kindly old family doctor. The doctor has a scary-looking instrument called a gastroscope with which he says he can see into the man's stomach, but thankfully they don't show him actually using it. Actually, this film was probably more optimistic about cancer treatment…

Usually refers to the, er, ..ah...vergina, not the nose so much. A little difficult to illustrate I guess. Given the size of that stomach mass he has about a 20% chance of living 5 yrs. BTW, the doctor only says "recover"...not cure. Just sayin.'
