No Skin Fairy in this one, IÃÂm afraid. Just three kidsÃÂÃÂFred, Billy, and VirginiaÃÂÃÂwho are way more interested in washing than any real kid. We get to see such stirring things as Virginia with soap all over her face, Billy licking himself like a cat and saying ÃÂWhy?ÃÂ all the time, some disgusting images of skin diseases, and lots of close-ups of Fred taking his bath. Not a particularly pleasant viewing experience, I can tell you. This one needs an Evil Sprite Character to liven it up. Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: ****. Weirdness: ***. Historical Interest: ****. "Virginia washes her hands at least four times a day." Didn't they diagnose people for OCD back then? Then there's the other kid that whines "Whyyyyyyy?" and thinks he's a cat. How much soap does this family go through? The narrator mentions it constantly. It's apparent these kids are not professional actors. The animated scenes are pretty rudimentary.

Although not as deliriously great as Care of the Hair and Nails, Care of The Skin has some nifty moments. First of all, it's obvious with all the cuteness going on in these films, the film narrator has to scare us as well by showing advance cases of facial diseases. Anyways, speaking of disease, I wonder what the kids had to make them act so bad, because they're just awful.

the kinds in this look like my best friends' kids. they would not be caught dead anywhere near a cake of soap! i felt sorry for the boy who has to take the bath...you can see his naked hiney as he dries himself. this does need someone or thing to liven it up. it's a bit dry, but i liked it. also, you can hear the filmstrip noises in the background. that added to the fun.
