No more dogs packed in carsthis quote-newsreel-unquote has two very upsetting scenes of animal abuse. The first involves the capture of a beautiful old sea turtle, who is strapped upside down to the boat for purposes of humiliation, then strapped to the top of a Chevrolet (remember the name, folks!) while the narrator gleefully delights in telling us he is going to be turned into turtle soup and eyeglass frames. Oh man, Vol 3, No. 2. And this is the best one I've seen so far, as it mixes the usual (Cars, bikinied women, animal cruelty) with interesting stories. The first snippet is probably the most questionable 'story' ever captured by these reels. The capture of a live sea turtle. This is really hard to watch. It's then tied to the roof of a car to go to market. Thankfully, the snippet doesn't go 'Cannibal Holocaust' on us (I refuse to elaborate) Next is a feature about the transport of traffic horses to their destination via a special vehicle. Nothing too special. Next up is a truly funny segment…
