'The Eve Arden Show' - It Gives Me Great Pleasure (1957)

This was a treat to watch. Eve Arden displays a sharp, sarcastic wit that was probably ahead of her time. Or something. The show was nicely written, and very funny in spots. And she's lovely at 50 years old here. The commercials are a great addition as well. They help place it in context. TM

Eve Arden was popular, yet this fine series didn't last long. It may of been due to bad time slot (It was up against a very popular ABC-TV drama). TV audiences may of also had troubles accepting Eve Arden in a different role after her long running previous sitcom. Shame, this is a fun series which should of lasted longer.
