In this endlessly fascinating mind warp of a film, electricity and american freedom are somehow interwoven together. The explanations of how these topics are related are fascinatingly played out in animated sequences and live action to produce one bizarre piece of propaganda. One wonders what EXACTLY is the purpose of the film? To explain the history of electricity? To prove that americans are not 'destroyers'? Who knows.. A bonus point: The absolutely hysterican theme song at the beginning (and repeated at the end). Highly reccomended!

First half of film is an animated US history lesson, trying to show that the progress of settlers across the US was dependent on the development of various forms of power. I think it brings out some good points. The second half, is live action, showing what electricity does for you today (1950's style). Also shown, the required house of the future. I think this is an intresting look at what corporate America wanted children to think about their future. These values are not all bad. I saw lots of films like this one then I was a kid in elementary school in the mid-60's and I don't think it's…
