Gilmore Bros., Aviation Pioneers (1931)

A silent tribute to those early air pioneers, the Gilmore Brothers! What, you never heard of them? Well, neither did I, until I watched this thing. What this appears to be is not neccesarily a salute, but something of a "what could have been" as we see the two brothers go into the shed and dust off their 'plane' which looks like it couldnt get off the ground in the first place, and present it to the world to prove.. something. I'm not too sure, but I will give bonus points for the Gilmores looking like they just got out of the Ozarks.

The model looks like some kind of fantasy. The brothers look as bizarre and dusty as their plane. I like their dogs, however.It must have been a funny curiousity by 1931. The film is not too clear.

2 geezers and their one airplane in a barn. I to am sure it never got off the ground (the compression was a little low on the engine). It's an old airplane with wings that have the "flapping bird" look of the early 1900"s. I give them one star for being brave enough to walk under the wing.
