The first digit of my age is much higher than I wish to admit, but I believe you are seeing the Lake Michigan shoreline from around St Joseph and Saugatuck...and toward Grand Haven and Muskegon ... looks like shots in June or July. Summer resorts there were a huge family thing well into the early 60's. Think Catskills with a Midwest twist... Next are shots of the Detroit River, the big steamer you see is an example of how the shipyards in Toledo and Cleveland were getting good at putting out LARGE ore and bulk carriers.
