Synopsis
When a wife and mother abandons her family for the footlights of Broadway, then dies in a tragic accident, revealing long-held secrets, the husband turns to alcohol to cope. But an actress from his traveling theatre troupe sees his pain and stands by him and the boy through benders, financial difficulties, and misunderstandings until the three begin to present as a functional family.

Interesting film on several levels. It could be viewed as a soap, but there are undercurrents of real social commentary and dramatic tension. The film is well made, with nothing superfluous. I had a feeling it was cut to the bone. The dramatic ending was well filmed; the movie held my interest. Audio quality is good; video is good considering age of this film.

It's a film about actors, not a circus per se. Nothing in particular is original or extraordinary, but an interesting script and pacy direction make the film very easy to watch. Incidentally, seems to shot using locations and some actors featured in 1932's The Big Broadcast, one of my favorite movies.
