The story is that Joanie summers got her start by singing commercials for Pepsi Cola, which belonged to Joan Crawford. Those commercials were a fantastic success and Coca Cola suddenly faced a real competitor. Ms Crawford was so grateful to Ms Summers that she helped lauch her career such as on this show.

I'm tinkin' this shoulda been labeled: Hollywood Palace ___ October 9, 1965. What------evvvvver. great ahow anyway..... if you like tat sort ting. As I recall i tink thiw was broadcast on a Saturday evening..... while I was slaving away at More and more homework. this was't enough of an attention grabber to be a total distraction from the *&^%$%^& books but it DID make the evening more tolerable.
