Tells the story of the little remembered Apollo 7. It marked the return to space by the USA after the dreadful Apollo 1 disaster, proving that Apollo was a spaceworthy ship. The film touches lightly on it but the crew of 7 staged a mini-mutiny in space when they felt Houston was loading them up with too many activities in too little time to accomplish them. Commander Wally Schirra was leaving the astronaut corps after this flight so there was little NASA could do with him but Eisele and Cunningham never flew again.
