The mostly earthbound mystery of planes being shot down by a mysterious pilot has a lot going for it. The cast from John Carroll, Leon Ames and right on down is uniformly superior. Red herrings are everywhere. The plot keeps you guessing. NO SPOILERS HERE!. Produced by a lady producer of some note, Franchon Royer and released by Puritan Pictures under the title also of "Death In The Air". Production values are superior and the cleaned up sound and mostly great picture don't hurt either. They didn't know what it was back then but PTSD was a major plot device in this as well. An interesting multiple murder mystery that offers up a number of possible suspects to keep us guessing and involved - until they are killed one by one. We identify the suspects through various innuendos conveyed during their short time on the ground, as the murders all occur while flying, as a mysterious plane keeps shooting them down. So there is lots of "dead" film time watching flying maneuvers, which don't really add much any information - but might be interesting to aviation buffs who like to watch bi-planes doing tail spins and flying upside down.
