Employee pilferage can be a serious problem, especially in large industrial outfits. I remember my dad's old company from years ago. They always had employees nicking small items (and by small I mean anything as large as heaters and bulldozer tyres), but at one point in particular, they had a serious problems with scrap metal theft, especially copper wire.
