From a book entitled "Americas favorite movies behind the scenes" The section on Stagecoach "Canutt says that the first time he did part of his stagecoach stunt was in Lightning Warrior, a 1931 Mascot serial. Other serials that featured the entire routine of Canutt dropping between the horses and the coach passing over him were Republic’s The Vigilantes Are Coming (1936) and Zorro’s Fighting Legion (1939)."
