Nice film on the Southwest. Many nice desert shots of, cowboys, horses, and cactus or cacti. Unfortunately the old green car looks out of place. This little ad must have been used to get people to buy Chevrolets and to see the country.

This seems to be the last Road to Romance film on the Archive. It's unfortunate that more of these travelogs aren't available, but they've strayed quite a bit from the Take Your Family on the Super-Highway theme of the 1949 films. This Arizona trip, along with Roads to Romance: Coral Gables, reveals the camera mastery of the best Handy films. Each shot of a mesa, mission, or motionpicture location is an artful composition of light and shadow, color and contrast. The music is heavenly, the announcer perfect-pitched. Each actor is the epitime of the 1950s American ideal. It's like seeing Life…
