A little bit too hamfisted and mel9dramatic, but that is to be expected with drug PIFs. In response to some previous reviews about the progression from pills to weed to hard drugs being unrealistic, that's literally what happened with all my drug-addict friends (and lots of my college friends went down that path for some reason). First they started off with prescription medicine (e.g. Tramadol), then into weed, then into 'harder' pills (e.g. methadone), and then the 'traditional' drugs of their choice. The 'weed-to-pills-to-hard-drugs' progression, while highly emphasised in cautionary media…

More fun than usual from Sid Davis, as a portrait of a teenage drug addict is featured. The narrator, who is familiar to these films, is going on a mile a minute in this one, Plenty of information is shirked out in this story of a teenage girl going down that slippery slope. First it's pills, then marijuana, and then yes, heroin. Actually, I was surprised at the order of bad drugs this took. I think it SHOULD have been Marijuana, pills, and then heroin. But what do I now? Anyways, this is not bad, it's not something you've never seen before, but enjoyable nevertheless.

Like most of these films they are written not by folk who have experience of drugs, but by some insane 3rd party game of Chinese whispers, so you end up with weed being worse than barbiturates. These days barbiturates are almost completely gone and weed is legal, so go figure that one. Funnily enough they were pretty spot on about heroin, they way the characterised it was probably the closet to reality of all the drugs they covered, again go figure.
