Classic TV - A must for Holmes Fans this site introduced me to Ronald Howard as Sherlock Holmes and I shall be for ever grateful. After watching the eight episodes available here, I bought myself to all 37 episodes made on a DVD collection!! The TV series was never shown in the UK until a few years ago when a satellite channel called Bonanza continually repeated 8 episodes on a daily basis before going bust, They have recently reappeared as the Young@heart channel, repeating the same 8 episodes. Howard is excellent as Holmes and his Dr Watson is almost as funny as Nigel Bruce was with Basil…

The half hour tv episodes of Sherlock Holmes are very entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Even with the low budget constraints of the show, the acting and chemistry between Holmes and Watson makes up for any short comings this show might have. I have since purchased the entire 39 episodes available on dvd. This is tv's half hour 1950s drama at it's best.
