Very accurate, what is said in it is actually true, about the nature of spiritism, and about demonic possession. The Cathcart character is obviously based on G. K. Chesterton.

This movie has the elements for a decent mystery story. An English manor house, upper crust family, friends with strange hobbies involving the supernatural, a compliment of know-it-all professor types, and a love triangle. All that might lead one to expect the plot to thicken. But no. it thins and thins into a ridiculous almost comical ending. Disappointing.
