A good mystery with a good pace that keeps the viewer guessing. Nice punchline ending. Almost immediately I recognized the inspector (Alan Wheatley) as the Sheriff of Nottingham from the Robin Hood series broadcast in the late '50's. He's rather good in this one, along with Lloyd Bridges.

Very Noir with a touch of Deja Vu at the end. Lloyd Bridges is always a pleasure to watch. Back when movies were entertaining stories not photo opportunities for actor/models. Like good books, these films don't become dated and can be watched over and again.

Former service man returns to England 6 years after the war(WW 2) to rekindle romance, BUT what has the lady been doing for the last 6 years? Excellent thriller with the "Sea Hunt" guy. Only downside was the kind of silly ending.
