A very condensed summary of the novel "The Moonstone" by Wilkie Collins with some changes. So: it is far from being an adequate adaptation but it is well worth watching. The whole cast is acting very well and it was fun to see David Manners again. The only weak point of the movie is that it is far too short. In IMDb the runtime is listed as follows: 62 min | 46 min (DVD). Seems as if we here get the version which was edited for DVD and at least 15 minutes of the original film are missing. I hope a complete version of the film exists somewhere and will find it´s way to the archive.
