2 transit tunnels are showcased here, we start off by showing the opening day of the tunnels, and this of course, being 1917 SF, is a BIG event. Lots of people show up to watch the trolleys come to and fro. Its almost a sheer frenzy! This was quite fascinating both in the effect at the people but how well developed SF seemed to be after.. well, ok, 8 years IS a long time after the quake and fire. I guess they had a lot of pluck to redevelop. From there, we go BACKWARDS and see the actual tunnel get developed. Lots of trees removed, plenty of dirt removed (poor donkeys)! And lots of man labor…
