UFO STILL GREAT IN 2025! . A top 10 all-time fave. Coming into puberty I fell for Gabrielle Drake. Hard. Back then, UFO was an import only shown on UHF stations that required a separate hoop antenna for your TV. Reception was spotty. UHF stations were often run on tiny budgets at colleges and imported shows from the UK because they were so inexpensive. They'd change times episodes were shown, ran episodes twice in a row, or on successive nights, just to fill broadcast time. Whilst often call simply: "UFO," even I was originally confused by at one time thinking SHADO UFO was another series. Silky me. Great series from back when TV was TV and shows were truly entertaining. Good show.

If you want top notch special effects do not bother. This was brittan's finest of its time though. I was 10 yrs old when we started seeing it and I do not remember what channel or day or time but unlike some shows I grew up with, This show and Space 1999 have held the test of time as cult classics. I did get a little bored at a couple of shows where the theme of 2-3 epasodes were too close to the same but if seen out of order would have stoped that completely. I thank the people that allowed me to watch the 2 series and relive my youth of love of scifi in the funnest times of my Texas growing…

scathson below has a point. What galaxy were they from? What planet? What were they called? What knowledge did we gain about their technology? But still a great show. (edit: Only 1 episode rated below 7 on IMDb) This was Ed Bishop's best role, so I'd say underrated.
