Synopsis
A reporter who has had an affair with the daughter of the U.S. President is sent to Hungary. There he is bitten by a werewolf, and then gets transferred back to Washington, where he gets a job as press assistant to the President. Then bodies start turning up in D.C

OK, there's a definite aroma of cheese in this stew (but that isn't something any card-carrying disciple of the Cult of UHF is gonna object to--and i'm not). What I Am going to talk about is what I LIKED about this movie: and that begins with Mr. Ginsberg's clear homage to the 1941 Lon Chaney Jr classic THE WOLF MAN. We have the cane with the wolf figure of silver on the top, we have our hero, Jack Whittier (Stockwell) rushing to the defense of a woman (Giselle) and killing the wolf with a cane, though he DOES get bitten in the process. it's satire, not finely made but it's funny and the white establishment keeps blaming the Black Panthers. The reality is that it's one of them who is killing and mutilating. Thirty-five years and little has changed... the question is, did "W" visit Budapest as well? and was he bitten by a wolf there. We may never know.

Would I recommend this movie as a serious piece of work? Would I recommend it for laughs? Definitely. One of the good parts is where the Pentagon is being blamed for everything. Dean Stockwells acting as a Werewolf and turning into one are great. Too bad he didn't bite everyone in Government before he died, all 545 people, than they could be shipped back to Romania. Rating is only 2 because it was trying to be both serious and funny. Instead of one or the other.

Oh dear, what a shocker. Badly lit, badly written, badly directed. Everything about it is bad. Pity the poor actors who got landed with this nightmare. Proof that Ed Wood was by no means the worst director.
