White Wonder (1958)

Another from the "Where Would We Be Without..." school of industrial films. Well, where would we be without salt? According to the Morton company, nowhere. Salt is in everything we touch, see, feel and do. It's even in airplanes! You can cook with it, clean with it, shoot it, snort it, roll around in it...it's a White Wonder! Great visuals, a classic 1958 look, a fun film all around. About five minutes too long on the explanation of salt production, but hey, it is an industrial film.

Another endless documentary here. Probably the reason for that is because the subject is so poorly, at least on the archive, presented on film. The subject? SALT!! Yessss, The ways salt is taken out of the ground and made is discussed here in its endless varieties here. Actually, its somewhat interesting, as it brings up many ways which the wonder crystal enriches our lives. The problem with this film, is that it doesnt know when to let up. After the 4934th use of salt (you can use it to clean your pots!) youll be screaming Enough already!
