Synopsis
Also known as "Andalusian Nights," the film presents a dramatization of the rehearsal of the opera "Carmen," with excerpts from the opera performed by Maria Cebotari, Marko Rothmuller and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Josef Krips. Acted sequences include a funny entrance by the late-arriving Maria Cebotari (ironically noted for her punctuality). Maria Callas was compared to her, and Angela Gheorghiu named Maria Cebotari among the artists she most admired.
