Synopsis
Describes how the oboe and bassoon create their unique sounds by means of the double reed, showing musicians playing instruments with the Boston Symphony Chamber Players. Principal Oboe Ralph Gomberg and Principal Bassoon Sherman Walt shown playing Poulenc and De Falla Trios with pianist Gilbert Kalish. Shows the crafting of reeds and the making of oboes at the shop of A. Laubin.
