Synopsis
Prizefighter Bob Neal (Ray Walker) is in debt to gangster Vic Santell (Hooper Atchley) for training expenses. Santell orders Bob to take a dive in the fourth round so Santell can recoup prior gambling losses. Taunted by his ring opponent, Bob wins the fight. Realizing that his profession and underworld characters connected to it are causing him problems, Bob decides to join the police force. This is B-movie fun of the best. Fast paced. A lot of trustworthy characters from whom you would certainly buy the second-hand car if they offer it to you. Coppers who are what you expect. Nurse “Pretty Swell Dish” always fresh from styling in the beauty salon. If you like tough language and great hearts, then watch this. A swell set-up, otherwise: “Beat it, you cheap doublecrossing crook!”

I like Ray Walker movies.. he's the quintessential wise cracker in these old flicks.. Why he didn't become much more popular is beyond me.. Sure, he had the same sound in every movie, but so did Cagney, Bogart and the rest. Actors now are all vanilla and if they don;t fake-hump right they don't become stars..

A shady boxer is recruited to become a police officer (he gets his badge the very next day it seems) and is soon fighting the friends he had in the underworld world! So Mr. Boxer has to make some tough choices.. which way will he go? Yeah, this IS pretty predictable and lightly plotted. But this film moves along in a brisk pace for people to notice (for a change) and while Ray Walker is not necessarily the best looking nor the best acting guy in the world, he¡¦s passable. Good for a somewhat entertaining, if extremely light night at the movies.
