Democracy provides a concise rundown of the basic principles, qualities, and conditions that typify a democratic society. The film posits that shared respect and power among individuals are the two main attributes found in a democracy, and that the existence of these attributes is dependent on two conditions; relative economic parity and an enlightened, educated citizenry. There's an especially good segment that describes the essential elements of journalistic integrity, an asset that has been in short supply for quite some time. The film has aged quite well.
