Girls Beware (1961)

Great little scare film, underscored with a great hep music score, teaches kids about the dangers of catching rides with strangers, letting strangers into the house, talking to strange people, and, in the best and last part, dating older boys. With a cast of unbelievably homely girls and horny boys, this film will not dissapoint. All is told at the last part of the last segment.. You'll find yourself in "trouble", be taken out of school, and put under the care of the Juvenile Authority! This of course, is a MUST SEE on this site.. But beeeeeeewaaaaare!

A cool but sobering glimpse of some of the dangers of being a teenage girl in the late 50's. The visuals are great in this film, like the drive in diner, the custom pickup truck and the teens themselves. I guess the warnings were and still are valid, but I can't help but think that movies like this probably encouraged unwise behaviour as much as discouraged it. A great watch!

For 1951, "GIrls Beware" was an excellent film for teenage girls. Well filmed and directed. Of course now the film seems dated, although some points still make sense.

After viewing Sid Davis' Boys Beware, I just had to see his companion piece for girls. While not as entertaining as its counterpart, I couldn't help but notice that both unfortunate victims were not only sexually violated, they get screwed by the legal system as well! In Boys Beware, Jimmy turns in Ralph and gets probation and is released under his parents' custody (house arrest?). In Girls Beware, not only does Mary get pregnant, she is taken out of school and placed under the "guidance" of juvenile authorities! Here's the really f**ked up part: both kids confide in their parents beforehand…

Just when i was about to accept an offer to babysit, i see this movie. I think that says it all! And the whole older boys thing was a bit much! The movie basically says not to take an interest in older guys. And as i am in love with my older neighbour i didn't take to this movie!

In his epic "Boys Beware," producer Sid Davis claims men preying on boys is the result of homosexuality. In this Davis film, therefore, doesn't it stand to reason that men preying on girls is the result of heterosexuality? Uh, Sid's not going there. After all, that's "normal." So Sid finds another excuse. It's AGE! That's it! Girls should stay away from older boys. "Boys Beware" has creepy looking guys, as if to point out how evil looking gay men are.
