A Rural Community: Holtville, Alabama (1945)

I grew up here and so did my Father. The movie tells the story of a project where the school was used to transform the community. While the casual viewer might have a different opinion of the movie, it is wonderful for those of us who grew up and went to the school or who lived in the agrarian South. The movie portrays one facet of rural life in the South. I am happy to see my Grandfather, parents and family friends come to life! I was not born when the movie was made but saw it many times as a student at Holtville. My parents both taught school there.
