I notice a pattern of vertical lines on the image with this movie (not on the other Hoffman movies I've seen so far). Any chance this might be a "Kodacolor" film, a process using a lenticular film stock, which, when combined with red-green-blue cylindrical lenses on the projector reproduced a true color image. The old equipment is not especially rare and would be worth tracking down- a 20's home movie in full color would be astonishing!
