The longer version features an opening parade of popular stage and circus performers, among them Little Tich. He enters in his long shoes and rises on tiptoe to cadge a light for his cigarette from a passing giant. Little Tich was a great favorite in French of British music hall audiences and is still held in affectionate memory.
