Ionesco was part of the movement in France after World War II known as Theatre of the Absurd. His play Rhinoceros is drawn from to create an animated story with a life of its own. There is more similarity to the movement than to the Ionesco play. Although this animated short bogs down three-fourths through, give it a chance. It has dramatic structure not tied to typical beginning-middle-end story, nor does it have a solid sense of place, but a shifting which works well in refocusing us on the theme of conformity.
