This movie brought me to tears!! It was so nice seeing a female protagonist, and I just fell in love with Setsuko Hara's performance. So sad seeing the end of freedom in Japan in the lead up to WW2, yet so full of hope as the students fought to prevent it. I fear for the United States as we are also being threatened by a right wing juggernaut!
