Nice little Tom and Jerryish carton here. I like this one primarily for the reason that for all the nifty little ways Herman the mouse tries to dispose the cat down the well, the cat always averts certain catastrophe, and Herman has to think of a new plan. So thereÂs a bit of role reversal going on here, and itÂs quite cleverly done.

Not really a BAD cartoon, but when you consider that some of these same animators , directors, and writers worked on the immortal Max Fleischer Popeyes and Betty Boops, it's really sad that they were reduced to cranking out unremarkable kiddie-fare like this. When Paramount ruthlessly kicked out the Fleischer Brothers and took over their studio, the creative spark left the place, along with Max and Dave. Herman's voice seems to be based on that of Leo Gorcey of "Bowery Boys" fame.
