Synopsis
Once hounded from his castle by outraged villagers for creating a monstrous living being, Baron Frankenstein returns to Karlstaad. High in the mountains they stumble on the body of the creature, perfectly preserved in the ice. He is brought back to life with the help of the hypnotist Zoltan who now controls the creature. Can Frankenstein break Zoltan's hypnotic spell that incites the monster to commit these horrific murders or will Zoltan induce the creature to destroy its creator?

Of course I'm a big fan collector of 'classic' horror like Universal and some Fox and Warners but Hammer was just as good if not better at making remakes and their own original movies not just horror. This is my favorite Frankenstein with Peter Cushing again starring as the 'mad' doctor. I think the story is really well written with a different twist and even a little comedy thrown in like many great horror movies. And there is not much blood and no gore thank goodness. Supporting cast are all great as usual in Hammer movies. I really liked the ending of this one too. Recommended.

The great British horror movie actor Peter Cushing. I didn't know that until I started watching this flick and was glad to see him in it because he adds a touch of class to anything he appeared in, and considering that the baron is the main character I don't think Hammer could have made a better choice.
