Synopsis
Three older sisters live on their family estate in Wales. This household once proudly reigned over a mining town, but the mines dried up and the estate and the town have fallen on hard times. When the land crumbles and a number of homes in the town are destroyed the sisters promise to rebuild the homes.

An interesting and somewhat gripping melodrama set in a small Welsh mining town, that is about British class values and human values - and never really gets resolved in a satisfactory way - although it does get resolved. A mine cave-in, evidently caused by negligence on the part of the mining company, destroys a good part of a small Welsh town. Three elderly sisters, one blind, one hard of hearing and all three mean-spirited, who live in a castle-like mansion are the upper-class residents and something like guardians to the poor mining folk. They generously vow to replace the destroyed…
