Archive Watch for Apple TV
Archive Watch turns the Internet Archive's vast public-domain moving-image collection — feature films, classic TV, newsreels, silent cinema, animation — into a cinematheque-style browsing and viewing experience on your Apple TV. It is free, with no ads, no subscriptions, and no account required to watch.
Getting started
- Browse the Home, Movies, TV Shows, Channels, and Collections tabs.
- Search by title using the Siri Remote keyboard or dictation.
- Surprise Me picks something to watch when you can't decide.
- Library holds your Favorites, playlists, and watched history.
Frequently asked
Do I need an account? No. Everything plays without signing in.
What does signing in do? Sign in with Apple is optional and only syncs your Favorites, playlists, and watch progress across the Apple TVs in your home, using your own iCloud. See the Privacy Policy for details.
A video won't play or looks wrong. Archive Watch streams directly from the Internet Archive; an occasional title may be temporarily unavailable on their side. Try again later, or pick another title.
Why is some content hidden? A mature-content filter is on by default. You can change it in Settings.
How do I remove my synced data? Settings → Account → Delete Account removes your synced data from iCloud and signs you out.
