Well acted story of a smart secretary who helps her boss rise to the top while falling in love with him. Mary Astor is great in this role. She carries the picture in a way that I haven't seen in her other films. Robert Ames is also good as the boss. Good production values and an obvious "A" picture from RKO. Most entertaining.

The previous reviewers all gave this 5 stars, so I thought I'd give it a go. It wasn't awful, but I can't give it 5 stars. I'll give it 3, 2 would be an insult because it wasn't all that bad, but it certainly wasn't worth 4 or 5 to me. It was painfully slow, and I found the characters and the acting stiff. It has its moments, but I kept waiting for it to get good, and it never did.
